Penalty Settings

Configure how your studio handles no-shows and late cancellations. Navigate to Settings > Penalties to set your policies.

No-Show Penalty

Enable or disable penalties for clients who don't attend their booked class.

When enabled, configure one or both of:

  • Fixed Amount -- a dollar amount charged for each no-show (e.g., $10)
  • Percentage of Class Price -- a percentage of the original class price (default: 50%)

If both are set, the fixed amount always takes precedence over the percentage. The percentage is only used when the fixed amount is $0.

An example calculation is displayed as you adjust the values so you can see how the penalty will work in practice.

Late Cancellation Penalty

Enable or disable penalties for clients who cancel too close to class time.

When enabled, configure:

  • Fixed Amount -- a dollar amount charged for late cancellations
  • Percentage of Class Price -- a percentage of the original class price (default: 25%)
  • Cancellation Window -- the number of hours before class when cancellation becomes "late" (default: 12 hours, range: 0--168 hours)

Any cancellation made within the cancellation window is treated as a late cancellation and the penalty applies. Like no-show penalties, the fixed amount takes precedence over the percentage when both are set.

An example calculation is displayed alongside the fields.

How Penalties Are Applied

  • No-show penalties are applied when you mark a client as a no-show from the class detail page
  • Late cancellation penalties are applied automatically when a client cancels within the cancellation window
  • Waiving penalties -- penalties can be waived on a case-by-case basis directly from the class detail page when marking a no-show or processing a cancellation

Reset to Defaults

Click Reset to Defaults to restore the standard penalty settings:

  • No-show percentage: 50%
  • Late cancellation percentage: 25%
  • Cancellation window: 12 hours
