New-Student Offers

A new-student intro offer is a special price shown only to first-time students — the kind of offer competitors lead with ("First class free", "$25 for 2 weeks unlimited"). It is the single biggest lever for converting someone who lands on your booking page or embedded schedule for the first time.

Each studio can run one active intro offer at a time. To set it up, go to Dashboard > Settings > New-Student Offers, choose an offer type, set its parameters, and save. A live preview shows the exact headline students will see.

Offer Types

TypeWhat the student getsParameters
First class freeTheir first class at no chargeNone
Discounted first classA percentage or fixed-amount discount on their first classDiscount type (% or $) + amount
Intro passUnlimited classes for a set number of days, at an intro pricePrice + duration in days
Intro packA set number of class credits for an intro pricePrice + number of classes

The drop-in price shown alongside the offer is your class's normal price (set per class) — the intro offer always appears above it so the deal is the first thing a new student sees.

Who Qualifies

  • First-time only. A student qualifies if their email has no prior completed booking at your studio. This works for both guests and signed-in members.
  • One redemption per student, for life. Each email can redeem an intro offer at your studio exactly once. The limit is enforced on our servers at checkout, so it can't be bypassed from the page.
  • Returning students see normal pricing. If someone who already has a booking (or already redeemed the offer) goes through the flow, they are quietly charged the standard price instead.

Eligibility is checked when the student checks out, not when the page loads — so the offer is visible to everyone, but only actually granted to people who qualify.

How Students See It

The offer surfaces everywhere a new student decides to book:

  • Class detail page — On /[your-studio]/class/[class] (the page the embedded schedule links to, and a shareable URL), a "New students only" card appears at the top of Booking Options, above the drop-in price.
    • For First class free / Discounted first class, the card's button sends the student to your schedule to pick a class; the intro price is applied automatically at checkout if they qualify.
    • For an Intro pass / Intro pack, the card's button opens a short purchase sheet right there.
  • Booking sheet — When a new-student class offer is active, a "New students" banner appears at the top of the booking sheet, noting the deal is applied automatically at checkout.

How Redemption Works

  • Free or fully-discounted bookings complete instantly — no payment step.
  • Paid intro offers (a discounted-but-not-free class, or a paid intro pass/pack) go through normal Stripe checkout.
  • Either way, the redemption is recorded against the student's email so the offer can't be claimed twice.

Tips

  • Match the offer to what your local competitors run — if studios nearby lead with "first class free," meeting that removes a reason not to try you.
  • An intro pass ("2 weeks unlimited") tends to drive more total visits than a single free class, which builds the habit that leads to a membership.
  • You can switch the active offer at any time; changing it only affects students who haven't redeemed yet.
