Setting Up Payouts

To accept payments for class bookings, you need to connect a Stripe account. StudioBase uses Stripe Connect to securely handle payments and deposit earnings directly to your bank account.

Connecting Stripe

During Onboarding

If you're setting up your studio for the first time, Stripe Connect is part of the onboarding wizard (Step 2):

  1. Click Connect with Stripe
  2. Complete the Stripe onboarding flow (business info, bank details, identity verification)
  3. You'll be redirected back to StudioBase when done

Stripe verification may take a few minutes. You can continue setting up your studio while it processes.

From the Dashboard

If you skipped Stripe during onboarding or need to reconnect:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Find the Payments section
  3. Click Connect Stripe
  4. Complete the Stripe onboarding flow
  5. You'll be redirected back to your dashboard

What Stripe Needs

During Stripe onboarding, you'll provide:

  • Business information — Your studio name and type
  • Personal details — Name and date of birth for identity verification
  • Bank account — Where payouts will be deposited
  • Tax information — Required for US-based businesses

Verification Status

After connecting, your account may take up to 24 hours to be fully verified. During this time:

  • A "Payment Setup In Progress" banner appears on your dashboard
  • StudioBase checks your status automatically every few seconds
  • Once verified, you'll see a success message

Status Indicators

  • Connected and verified — You can accept payments and receive payouts
  • Pending verification — Stripe is reviewing your information. You can still set up classes.
  • Incomplete — Return to Stripe to finish providing required information

Accessing Your Stripe Dashboard

Once connected, you can access your Stripe dashboard at any time:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. In the Payments section, click Stripe Dashboard
  3. This opens Stripe in a new window where you can manage bank details, view detailed reports, and update business information

Troubleshooting

Stripe onboarding didn't complete

  • Return to Dashboard > Payments and click Connect Stripe to resume
  • Stripe saves your progress, so you won't need to start over

"Payment Setup In Progress" won't go away

  • Verification typically completes within 24 hours
  • If it persists longer, check your Stripe dashboard for any required actions
  • Contact support@studiobase.org if verification is stuck

Stripe account was rejected

  • Stripe may request additional documentation
  • Check your email for messages from Stripe
  • Log into your Stripe dashboard directly to resolve any issues

Once your Stripe account is connected and verified:

  • Understand your payouts — Learn about balances, payout schedules, and transaction details
  • Start accepting bookings — Payments will flow into your Stripe balance automatically
